About Sleep PJ

Q1.

 Where is this service available?

A.

Click here for more details. It is available in the single rooms (but not in the Telework Single rooms).

Q2.

 Can anyone use this service?

A.

The recording and analysis of Sleep Data is exclusively for Toyoko Inn Club Card members.

Q3.

 Is there any age requirements?

A.

There is no age restriction or requirement.

Q4.

Are there any requirements such as height or weight?

A.

The Sleep Analysis is not available to those who weigh less than 15kg.

Q5.

Can a pregnant person use this service? (With regards to electromagnetic waves)

A.

No problem, the Sleep Analysis does not emit electromagnetic wave, and is safe to use even for a pregnant person.

Q6.

I have a very bad sleep, can I measure it properly?

A.

The measurable range is within a radius of about 40 cm centered under the chest when lying on the bed. If it moves far beyond the measurement range, the measurement accuracy may decrease or measurement may not be possible.

Q7.

Can I see the Sleep Analysis results as soon as I wake up?

A.

Unless your sleep time is extremely short, you can see the Sleep Analysis results by tapping "Suimin Data" in Sleep PJ from the Toyoko Inn official app in the morning.

Q8.

What if the Toyoko Inn official app does not have a Sleep PJ button?

A.

There is no Sleep PJ button in the menu of Toyoko Inn official app that is a version before September 2021. If you have already installed the official app, please be sure to update to the latest version to access the menu for Sleep Analysis results.

Q9.

How long should I be laying down in the bed to have the Sleep Analysis results?

A.

It may be possible to analyze even with a short sleep-time, but if it is less than 3 hours, the analysis result may not be obtained.

Q10.

Is there any explanation for the terminologies used on the Sleep Analysis result page?

A.

You can see the explanations from the "About scores and terminologies" at the bottom of the analysis screen of Sleep Analysis Data.

Q11.

The same content was displayed in Sleep Tips.

A.

Since the contents of Sleep Tips are displayed randomly, the same contents may be displayed. The contents will also be updated according to the seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. Future content of the Sleep Tips will be updated regularly.

Q12.

Is the Sleep Analysis available in rooms other than singles rooms?

A.

Since the sleep sensor is intended for use by one person in principle, if two or more people sleep on the same bed, the sleep data for two people could get mixed and measuring the correct individual data would not be possible. Therefore, it can only be used in a single room. Please note that correct results may not be obtained even if you sleep with your child.

Q13.

I'm getting Sleep Analysis data for when I was not sleeping.

A.

The sleep sensor detects and analyzes based on pressure, so if you are sitting or laying down relaxing on your bed before going to bed, the time you spend on the bed may be measured and analyzed in an "awake" state. Therefore, please note that the use of the bed besides sleeping time may affect the overall score.

Q14.

I woke up in the morning and looked at my smartphone, but I couldn't get sleep data. Why is that?

A.

It is possible that Sleep Analysis data could not be obtained because of poor analysis due to sleeping on the out-of-measurement range area for the sensor, sleep time being too short, or temporary interruption of communication of the devices. Please note that we will improve the accuracy by improving the system in the future.

About equipment that measures sleep quality

Q1.

How does Sleep Monitor measure your sleep status?

A.

Sleep status is measured by detecting three movements: movement of the whole body, movement of the chest, and slight recoil according to the heartbeat. Unique signal analysis processing power detects signals and calculates heart rate, respiration, and body movements. We use these data to calculate sleep stages, awakening, and sleep scores.

Q2.

What's the difference between the sleep analysis data you can get with a free app on smartphones or a wearable device such as the Apple Watch?

A.

The smartphones apps estimate the sleep state using the motion sensor and microphone built into the smartphone, but there is a weakness (*) in accuracy of the detection method. Wearable devices also have problems with detection accuracy, and at the same time, they cannot be measured unless they are worn, but the Sleep Monitor only goes a sensor in the bed.
* In particular, it is difficult to detect the time when falling asleep and the state of sleep (light sleep, deep sleep, REM, non-rem, etc.), and the problem is that there is a deviation from the subjectivity. In some cases, the sleep onset time may shift by several hours.

Q3.

Can Sleep Monitor interfere with my sleep?

A.

Sleep Monitor does not interfere with your sleep. Sleep Monitor does not need to be attached to your body, and has no operating noise.

Q4.

I have a pacemaker, can I still use the Sleep Analysis?

A.

Please refrain from using Sleep Analysis in conjunction with medical electrical equipment such as a pacemaker, as they may adversely affect the device operation due to the radio waves.
